About This Tour

This journey to the vibrant and sophisticated cities of Buenos Aires - Argentina’s gateway city - and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is a cultural and culinary feast for the senses. Profoundly influenced by European colonization, the Native and European-inspired art, cultures and architecture of these two enormous countries is as diverse as their climates and landscapes. Often called the Paris of South America, Buenos Aires is much more than the home of legendary Eva Peron (although a visit to her grave at Recoleta Cemetery is part of a guided city tour). Enjoy a welcome dinner at a typical steakhouse, then revel for three days in the city’s European-style architecture, charming cafes and shops. In Rio de Janeiro, sample the great regional cuisine, soak in the sun at your beachfront hotel and enjoy expeditions to world-famous landmarks such as the enormous statue of Christ the Redeemer atop Corcovado. Discover the art of tango by learning a few steps and seeing a tango performance in Buenos Aires. Sample a typical asado lunch, hear gaucho music and see great horsemanship during a visit to a typical cowboy ranch. Stroll paths and bridges on both the Argentinean and Brazilian sides of Iguassu Falls, the widest waterfall in the world during a stay in a resort in the national park. In Rio de Janeiro, home to Copacabana and Ipanema Beach ascend to Sugarloaf by cable car for spectacular views; and cap off your stay with a typical “Churrascaria,” a Brazilian feast of marinated and barbecued
