Day 1
Chicago, IL - Tour Begins Welcome to Chicago, the dynamic city known as the "Second City," the "Windy City," the "City of Big Shoulders," and "Chi-town." Chicago is celebrated for its beautiful lakefront, breathtaking architecture, world-class museums, great theatre, cutting-edge restaurants and fantastic shopping. Tonight you will meet your fellow travelers and enjoy a welcome dinner. Day 2 Chicago Your first full day begins on a high note with the quintessential sightseeing tour of the “Windy City.” Highlights include the historic Water Tower, Pumping Station, famed Michigan Avenue, Millennium Park, Wrigley Building, The Loop and Lake Front. Then enjoy an afternoon at leisure to explore the city on your own. Perhaps you will decide to shop on the Magnificent Mile or at Macy’s on State Street, the second largest department store in the world! You may also choose to take in the incredible views of the city from the top of the famous Sears Tower! Day 3 Chicago This morning travel to the village of Oak Park to visit the home and studio of legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright. This is where he lived and worked for the first 20 years of his career. It was here that Wright developed and perfected his signature Prairie Style architecture. Next, travel to the Victorian home of Ernest Hemingway, the famous American novelist, short-story writer and essayist, whose style left a lasting influence on American literature. An Oak Park native, Hemingway was awarded the 1954 Nobel Prize for Literature. This afternoon, travel to the wonderful Field Museum located at Chicago''s Museum Campus. The Field Museum is perhaps best known as the home of Sue, the world’s largest and most famous T-Rex. During your visit you will enjoy plenty of time to observe Sue and take in some of the museum''s more than 35 world-renowned exhibitions. This evening, head for Chicago''s renowned theatre district where you''ll enjoy an exciting performance. Day 4 Chicago This morning enjoy a scenic cruise through downtown Chicago, showcasing the city''s unique architecture. As you cruise along the historic Chicago River, you will see why Chicago is considered the home of the skyscraper and the cradle of modern American architecture. After the cruise, arrive back at Navy Pier and enjoy an afternoon at leisure. This evening share a special farewell dinner at the Walnut Room on State Street, Chicago’s oldest restaurant. Celebrating its 100th anniversary, it features original Circassian Walnut paneling and Austrian chandeliers. Day 5 Chicago - Tour Ends Your tour ends today, leaving you with unforgettable memories of your stay in the great city of Chicago.
